N.U.T.: A Cyberspunk Story

In an alternate timeline similar to our own, a mysterious flash that occurred on January 1st, 2000, an event known as the Conception, that engulfed the entire earth changed the way our world operates. Human DNA was changed that gave the species latent abilities never thought possible, Super Powers. Soon, the N.U.T. drug was developed that allowed humans to access the powers, known as N.U.T. Arts. Countries started weaponizing N.U.T. in a conflict known as the N.U.T. Wars, causing global devastation. The World Government established after the end of the N.U.T. Wars has banned the injection of N.U.T. in any capacity, but crime runs rampant across the country. Some brave warriors don masks and become Vigilantes, fighting against crime in the desolate future, and become symbols of hope for the people. Using N.U.T. is punishable by life in prison and possible death, making any Vigilante caught at high risk.

In the year 2062, an event known as the Nagasaki Crisis pitted the Vigilantes of Really Hard against the terrorist organization Endless Emission who planned to destroy a Mega City. The battle spanned across the country, eventually ending with the victory of Really Hard. However, the group disappeared after Endless Emission was defeated. The World Government , seeing the need for more action against crimes, passes the Release Sanction, allowing government approved Vigilantes to operate under the conditions of approved targets and no killing.

History of events in this universe.
